Its Here! the 6th MIYVMF 2024
We are thrilled to announce the 6th edition of the annual Meihodo International Youth Visual Media Festival! This year, we are accepting submissions in two categories: Narrative Films and Documentary Films. The submission period is from June 1, 2024, to August 31, 2024.
To all filmmakers and aspiring artists, we encourage you to unleash your creativity and submit your most spectacular narratives and eye-opening documentaries. At Meihodo, we eagerly await the opportunity to experience your work.
Our mission is to inspire and support the next generation of visual media creators by providing them with the opportunity to present their work to an international audience. Each year, we receive thousands of submissions, highlighting the diverse voices and unique perspectives of young filmmakers. The festival not only offers recognition and exposure but also substantial financial rewards, In our commitment to promoting filmmaking and supporting aspiring filmmakers worldwide, we have awarded a total of USD 757,000 in cash and prizes to our top contenders in previous years.
This year, we are offering a total of 1.5 million Yen in cash prizes, including JPY 400,000 for the Meihodo Grand Prize. We look forward to welcoming both returning participants and new creators to the festival. We will also be holding an offline viewing event in Aso, Kumamoto Japan for this year’s event, an award ceremony will be held on the 15th of November in the venue, and an online ceremony will be available on our official YouTube channel where we will be announcing the winners in which will feature a recap of the offline events and the award-winning submissions of this year’s festival.
For those interested in participating in this year’s event and submitting their works, please visit our official portal on Film Freeway at www.filmfreeway.com/miyvmf. Submissions are free of charge for the first 3,000 entries. Due to the submission limit set by the Film Freeway platform, a fee of $1 will be applied to subsequent entries. All proceeds will be added to the prize pool for the winners.
